Our coaches plan to continue the weekly meetings. Watch for communications about possible time changes to those meetings once the school year concludes.
We are all sad that this is the way LC 2020 is turning out and thank everyone for their understanding and continued dedication to our team.
As developments occur and we get a clearer picture of when it might be permissible and advisable to return to the water for short course, we will communicate them to you along with registration instructions.

Subject: Important Message for CBSD Families from Dr. Kopicki
Dear Central Bucks families,
This week I had the honor of witnessing several students at each of our high schools as they participated in commencement filming. Proud families cheered while their children took their turn in the spotlight. In that intimate setting, all those present could easily see the joy our students felt. It was a beautiful reminder, amidst all of these challenges, of our core mission to provide our students with all that they need to reach this milestone. As we look forward to commencement on June 12, I wish to invite our community to join us in congratulating our students for all they have accomplished and surely will accomplish in the future.
A few notes and reminders for our families:
Honoring the Class of 2020
Commencement ceremonies will be broadcast simultaneously at 7 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2020 for all three schools. We invite the entire Central Bucks community to clap hands, bang pots and pans, and more at the conclusion of the ceremony broadcast to show our students how proud we are.
The commonwealth’s recommendations for summer camps clearly state that camps operated by public schools may not reopen at this time. As a result, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all in-person summer programs planned for our schools this year.
All school district campuses and fields will remain closed during the summer months. This cancellation includes athletic camps, “summer fun,” and enrichment programming, as well as any use of our facilities or athletic fields by outside organizations. We appreciate your patience as our staff works to process refunds for all those who have enrolled in summer programs.
Please note, acceleration and remediation programming that is hosted online for secondary students will continue as scheduled. Families may expect more information in the coming weeks.
Board Note Newsletter
Please read the May edition of our monthly “Board Note” newsletter, designed to provide our community with a brief overview of items discussed at the monthly school board meetings. Of particular note, Dr. Nadine Garvin, assistant superintendent for elementary education, provided the board with a review of the results of our distance learning survey.
As we approach the end of this school year, our principals, administrators, and other staff are planning for the coming year. While we await guidance from health and education leadership at the commonwealth, we are focused on developing plans that will help us provide a safe, effective, quality educational experience for the children of the Central Bucks School District. As we engage in these important conversations, you have my personal commitment to the following:
- All decisions will be made with the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff foremost in our minds.
- We will invite, welcome, and consider input from our families in our decision making.
- We will dedicate ourselves, as we always have, to providing exceptional educational programming to our students.
