Congratulations to our CBST swimmers at Olympic Trials - we’re all so proud of you!
Remember to stay hydrated and bring your water bottle to practice.
Our coaches are concerned that there is confusion regarding practice expectations in the summer. Swimmers should all be swimming and doing dryland each day that dryland is offered – participation in dryland is not optional. If you are unsure of which dryland time applies to your swimmer’s group, please have them ask their coach. Swimmers benefit from a complete training routine including both swimming and dryland so it is required that they attend both. If you have an occasional conflict or a situation that impacts your ability to have your swimmer do both dryland and swim, please contact their coach, otherwise, be sure your swimmer is attending all parts of each practice – this is beneficial to your swimmer and avoids disruption for the rest of the group.
There is no age group practice on Monday, July 4th.
There is senior practice at Whites Road on Monday, July 4th 6-8:30 a.m. (no dryland).
Meet Entry Process:
Please do not contact meet hosts directly regarding entries for meets into which CBST has entered as a team. This causes the potential for problems with entries for your swimmers and other swimmers on our team, and often damages our team’s relationship with the meet host, jeopardizing our future ability to get into their meets.
Scratching from Meets:
If your swimmer’s plans change and s/he is unable to attend a meet that s/he is entered in, please email Julie Kline at email@example.com and Coach Stu at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. During long course meets, it can be especially difficult for both the meet director and our coaches to manage when we are unaware that a registered swimmer will not be in attendance. Thank you for your help.
*Recall that meet entries for GPAC, NLAC, and PAAC have been emailed and are posted on the team website (meets page).
Long Course Volunteer and Officiating Responsibilities
As in the past, CBST will be assigned to work during the Long Course Championship meets. If your swimmer is participating in a meet, you should expect to be asked to volunteer at some point during that meet. If you plan on officiating during this meet or cannot volunteer during a particular session, please email Julie Kline at email@example.com.
