Updates and reminders are below.
Unbelievably, we’re getting close to the end of the season! With all of the championship meets and the winding down of the season, there are many changes to available practices (varied times, some days without practice, and practices ending for the season at the different locations), so please take care to check the calendar EVERY day prior to heading out to practice. The calendar as listed now reflects all practices we anticipate for the rest of the season but if changes occur the calendar will be updated. Note that:
- The last day of age group practices at CB South at “normal” AG times is July 19 but any age group swimmer who would like to continue swimming may come to practice at the senior/AG practice time listed and there will be group-appropriate practices for them (AG swimmers should NOT plan to participate in dry-land on those days)
- After July 28th, any age group swimmers attending Zones may practice at the outdoor pools – see coach Paul for timing.
- There is no practice at CB South on July 22 due to the hazardous waste collection.
- Right away – email Julie Kline (email@example.com) if you are officiating or cannot volunteer at any portion Junior Olympics if your swimmer is participating.
- July 15 – payment due date for all currently billed charges for college swimmers and high school seniors who graduated last month
- July 16 – JOs additional qualified entry email deadline.
- July 25 – payment due date for July bills
- August 15 – registration deadline for 2017-18 (short course and year-round)
July bills were emailed for all swimmers last week. If you did not receive a bill (even if you believe you don’t owe anything) please contact me immediately. Note that for monthly payers these bills include July and August program fees as we know many of our families vacation during August and all 2016-17 fees must be paid prior to registration for next season. If you'd like to break the dues payment up, all July fees are due by July 25 and the August dues fee is due no later than August 25. Meet entries, equipment charges (caps/apparel), team travel, and any other charges incurred for long course 2017 will be billed as early in August as known. All 2016-2017 bills must be paid in full in order for a swimmer's registration for next season to be processed so please get your bill paid as soon as possible.
Note that college swimmers and high school seniors need to have all fees paid by July 15th. If you fall into either of those categories, please remit the full amount of your bill so that we’ll receive it no later than July 15th.
Remember that there is a drop-box available at CB South (inside so only accessible during our practice times) and drop-boxes at 16 Welden Drive (outside so accessible any time but remember to place your payment in a tightly sealed plastic bag).
Once entered into a meet, CBST swimmers are expected to swim all the events that they have signed up for. If your swimmer’s plans change ahead of time and s/he is unable to attend a meet that s/he is entered in, please email Julie Kline at firstname.lastname@example.org and Coach Stu at email@example.com as soon as possible. During long course meets, it can be especially difficult for both the meet director and our coaches to manage when they are unaware that a registered swimmer will not be in attendance. Barring an emergency, swimmers will not be scratched from events the day of the meet (if a swimmer wishes to scratch they must do so prior to the day of the meet).
Individuals not swimming in a meet (including parents and other family members of swimmers) may not be on deck during a meet (home or away) except when working as an on-deck volunteer at their assigned time. When on deck working, officials and other volunteers should be in the spot where they need to be to do their job (which is never the CBST team area).
For qualified, interested swimmers, Zones information may be found here: http://www.maswim.org/ma-zone-team/
2017-2018 Registration has been circulated. Remember that you’ll need to get in new physicals (dated 9/1/2015 or after) so please get appointments scheduled now and/or find your forms. You may find the forms at this link: http://cbsd.schoolwires.net/Page/2960
Scholastic All-America information is available for eligible swimmers who have completed 10th, 11th or 12th grade. Time standards, detailed information, and application are available via the link below.

CBST members must wear CBST caps at meets (if they wear a cap). If you need caps please email Julie Kline at email@example.com . Note that Julie needs at least one week’s notice prior to when you need the cap to be at CB South for pick-up so please plan accordingly. Your cap purchase will be billed to your account. (Silicone $15 or Latex $8) At this time of year the caps available are non-personalized CBST caps. Swimmers wishing to order personalized CBST caps will be able to do so in the fall.
Have a great day!
