High School Swimming:
A document is attached to help with the swimming transition from 8th grade to 9th grade. It may also be of interest to all high school swimmers. After reading this document, please contact Coach Stu at email@example.com or Jen Steinberg at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Good Luck to all our swimmer's attending Silver Champs this weekend!
Below is information posted via the Middle Atlantic website that will help you to navigate through the weekend. Please read the information thoroughly as some timelines and details have changed from what was originally communicated via the meet sheet. Also throughout the weekend, continue to check the Middle Atlantic website, the link below and CBST's twitter feed for the most up-to-date meet details.
Silver Champs Meet Info- https://www.teamunify.com/SubTabGeneric.jsp?team=mabest&_stabid_=148776
With the outstanding interest in attending this meet and the 2 day meet format, we have long 11 & Over AM prelim session timelines for both Saturday and Sunday, 5¾ and 6¼ hours respectively before any breaks are added! We are switching both AM sessions to scratch back sessions and we will seed the sessions during warm-up. Unfortunately, we need to eliminate the relays in the AM sessions. Blue Eagle will be refunding entry fees for the relays eliminated in only those sessions.
The 10 & Under PM sessions will remain pre-seeded sessions and the relays are still in them.
As with most of the meets that CBST attends, we are required to provide volunteers to help Silver Champs run smoothly. If CBST is required to volunteer during your swimmer's session, you may be asked to volunteer. It may also be the case if your swimmer qualifies for a relay or Finals during any particular day, the coaches will ask you to volunteer. If you are unable to volunteer during your assigned session, please find another CBST family that is available to fill-in. Thank you in advance for all your help!
The CBST Volunteer Responsibilities for Silver Champs are listed below. As noted above from the meet host, the 11 & Over sessions will be very lengthy, please split the session between the two and/or three names listed in each slot. Thank you again!
Session 1 - Timer Lane 2
Growney , Cervantes-Rodriguez and Poon
Session 2 - Timer Lane 8
Schnapf and Scholer
Session 4 - Timer Lane 1
He, Jucewicz and Kearns
Session 4 - Timer Lane 2
Wallace, Brasch and Brandbergh
Session 5 - Timer Lane 1
Suko and Ricciardi
Although the Junior Olympics meet entry deadline has passed, we are aware that there may be a few opportunities after this deadline to qualify for Junior Olympics. If your swimmer qualifies for a race after the deadline, please email Julie Kline at email@example.com AND Coach Stu at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 11:59PM on July 17, 2016 for your swimmer to be entered into the meet. (Note that the July 17, 2016 deadline is ONLY for events for which swimmers qualify after the deadline listed above. No other changes - for example time updates - can be made.)
Scratching from Meets:
If your swimmer’s plans change and s/he is unable to attend a meet that s/he is entered in, please email Julie Kline at email@example.com and Coach Stu at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. During long course meets, it can be especially difficult for both the meet director and our coaches to manage when we are unaware that a registered swimmer will not be in attendance. Thank you for your help.
Long Course Volunteer and Officiating Responsibilities
As in the past, CBST will be assigned to work during the Long Course Championship meets. If your swimmer is participating in a meet, you should expect to be asked to volunteer at some point during that meet. If you plan on officiating during this meet or cannot volunteer during a particular session, please email Julie Kline at email@example.com.
CBST members must wear CBST caps at meets. If you need caps please email Julie Kline at firstname.lastname@example.org . Note that Julie needs at least one week’s notice prior to when you need the cap to be at CB South for pick-up so please plan accordingly. Your cap purchase will be billed to your account. (Silicone $15 or Latex $8) At this time of year the caps available are non-personalized CBST caps. Swimmers wishing to order personalized CBST caps will be able to do so in the fall.
