Updates and reminders are below.
Per previous communication, the CBST-USAS pasta party will be held on Wednesday, February 27th in the CB South cafeteria. The coaches are planning to hold a practice first followed by the party - please continue to keep an eye out for timing details (will be provided later this week). This is a pasta party to celebrate the accomplishments of all swimmers during this season and occurs just prior to the championship meets to provide a great send-off for swimmers attending those meets. Swimmers should bring a white bandana, headband, or t-shirt to decorate. We cannot make this pasta party a success without your help. Please click on the sign-up below and let us know if you will be attending and what you are able to bring to the party. Thank you in advance for your help.
Note that we still need lots of pasta and sauce – please sign-up now!
Recall that if your swimmer has newly qualified for an event since our initial availability deadline for Junior Olympics, please email Heather Yim at email@example.com AND Coach Stu at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 11:59PM on Sunday, February 24, 2019 for your swimmer to be entered into the meet. (Note that the February 24, 2019 deadline is ONLY for events for which swimmers qualify at a Last Chance meet taking place between 2/23 and 2/24, this includes the UDAC Closed Invite. No other changes - for example time updates - can be made.)
Long course participants please keep your eye on email for a message regarding long course meet entries.
The Silver Champs meet host is doing a presale of Silver Champs gear. See link below. The store closes on March 4.

Individuals not swimming in a meet (including parents and other family members of swimmers) may not be on deck during a meet (home or away) except when working as an on-deck volunteer at their assigned time. When on deck working, officials and other volunteers should be in the spot where they need to be to do their job (which is never the CBST team area).
If your swimmer’s plans change and s/he is unable to attend a meet that s/he is entered in, please email Heather Yim at firstname.lastname@example.org and Coach Stu at email@example.com as soon as possible. Barring an emergency, swimmers will not be scratched from events the day of the meet (if a swimmer wishes to scratch they must do so prior to the day of the meet). Unfortunately, sometimes emergency situations do arise in which a swimmer has to scratch the meet on the day-of. In such cases, please make sure you email both Heather Yim and Coach Stu to ensure that the coaching staff attending the meet is notified. It is difficult for both the meet director and our coaches to manage when they are unaware that a registered swimmer will not be in attendance.

- At this time of season it’s always a good idea to help your swimmer clean-out his/her swim bag to be sure they have not picked-up anything inadvertently that does not belong to them. If anything turns up that is not yours, please place it in the lost and found bin in the equipment room at CB South.
- Remember to check the calendar for practice details and note the following special circumstances:
- No age group practice on Friday, March 1st and Saturday, March 2nd due to Junior Olympics swimmer and coach attendance
- Check senior group practice times daily as the high school season is winding down which changes pool availability
- the winding down of high school season practice times may vary. We often don’t know each high school team’s plan until the last minute. Please see calendar for your group’s times daily.
In order to help our swimmers and their parents navigate the transition from age group swimming to swimming in our senior group and also the transition to high school team swimming, we have prepared the attached document. All families with a swimmer currently in 8th grade should read this document now. Keep in mind that swimmers progress to the senior practice group within CBST in the same manner in which advancement occurs within age group. Thus, swimmers do not automatically advance to the senior practice group upon becoming a 9th grader, but rather, will advance to the senior group when they are ready as determined by the coaches. Please see the attached document for more information. Additionally, swimmers who will be entering 9th grade next fall and do not have access to or will otherwise not be participating with a high school team should set-up a family meeting during the spring with Coach Stu so that he can offer guidance regarding options and expectations with regard to your child’s continued swimming.
February Bills: were emailed on 2/7 please check junk/spam and email me now if you didn’t receive your bill. Payments are due February 25th.
Non-personalized black CBST Arena dome caps are now available for $27 each. To purchase a dome cap for your swimmer, please email me at least one week prior to when you need the cap to be available in your swimmer’s folder at CB South for you to pick-up. Caps purchases will be billed to your swimmer’s account.
A dome cap is most commonly worn by more experienced swimmers during championship meets. These caps should NOT be used on a daily basis during practice. Although coaches require our swimmer's to wear CBST caps during the swim meets that they attend, dome caps are NOT required. Silicone* or latex* CBST caps are more appropriate for most of our swimmers. If you are unsure if an Arena dome cap is appropriate for your swimmer, please have your swimmer ask his/her coach.
*If you need to purchase a silicone or latex cap, email me at least one week prior to when you need the cap to be available in your swimmer’s folder at CB South for you to pick-up. Cap purchases will be billed to your swimmer’s account. Silicone $15, Latex $8
