Dear CBST families-

We hope that everyone had a good Thanksgiving!

Below are a few items for today.

NCAP Meet Entry Information

Over the last few weeks, there have been a number of meets which our CBST swimmers have attended.  The coaches were very excited to see so many swimmers qualifying for more events at NCAP and in some cases, lowering their times for previously qualified events.  In order to make sure that we have all our CBST swimmers appropriately entered into their events, please review the attached entries for your swimmer(s).  If there are any entry changes for your swimmer(s), please email Coach Stu  at cbswimteam@gmail.com) and Julie Kline at jukline@cbsd.org no later than 10:00 a.m. tomorrow morning (Tuesday Dec 1, 2015).  Please note, this deadline is FINAL, as the meet host will not allow meet entry submissions/changes after this time. Thank you for your help with this process.

Date reminders this week:
Due to afternoon high school meets that will not conclude by 5:30 p.m., age group practices will be modified on the following dates. See the CBST website calendar for exact times on each of these days for your swimmer’s practice group.

            12/1, 12/17, 1/5, 1/19, 1/28, 2/2

Swimming 101 with Coach Paul (for parents):
Coach Paul will cover much information about the sport of swimming (for example, what is taper). This talk will be useful for new swim parents and veterans alike.
It will be held on Wednesday, December 2nd from 6:30-8:30PM in the classrooms by the pool (D204 and D205).

NCAP Travel Information
The NCAP meet host has provided a few preferred hotel options for those attending their meet.
Please see this meet information link above for the full listing:
http://pvswim.org/1516meet/16-32r.html
The CBST coaches have chosen to stay at one of the preferred NCAP hotels listed below.  A block of rooms has been reserved for our team for families to book.  Please reference Central Bucks Swim Team when making your reservation.  In order to receive the preferred rates, for which we have contracted, all reservations must be made by November 10, 2015.   If you have any questions while making your reservation, please do not hesitate to contact Kathy Burns at the Holiday Inn - College Park.
Holiday Inn - College Park
10000 Baltimore Avenue
College Park, MD  20740
301-345-6700

If you have any questions regarding the above hotel information, please contact Julie Kline at jukline@cbsd.org

If you are registering your swimmer for a meet using TM Lite, remember that USA Swimming requires all swimmers to be registered with their full legal name and, thus, that is how CBST has registered them per the information you provided during registration with the team. This means first name, middle initial, last name per birth certificate or subsequent legal name change document. Be sure to include this correct and complete information when entering any meets on your own. (Specifically, when adding your athlete in TM Lite include first name, middle initial, last name, birth date, sex, and then click "build ID.")

PRACTICE:
There will be no Age Group (AG) practice for the following dates:
November 6, 2015 (home football game)
November 11, 2015 (district financial aid night)

Watch for the 11/11/15 conflict and additional conflicts due to the high school swim teams’ schedules to be posted to the team calendar soon.

Please note, there will be a modified practice schedule during Thanksgiving week and over Winter Break.  Make sure to pay attention to the CBST calendar over the upcoming weeks as the times will vary.

Senior Flash Swimmers – Those participating full or part time in this practice group during the high school season should have received an informational email from Jennifer Steinberg (including the permission slip that must be completed and returned to Coach Stu at the first PSC practice). If you were planning to participate with this group but didn’t receive that email please contact Coach Stu.

BILLS:
Bills were emailed earlier this week. Please make payment as soon as possible and no later than November 25th for new charges and pay old charges immediately. If you have any questions about your bill please contact Jen Steinberg at jsteinberg@cbsd.org .

COMMUNICATIONS / MEETINGS:

Watch for dates for Swimming 101 for parents and Nutrition talks to be scheduled soon.

Watch for the team directory to be circulated in the next two weeks.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES:

Please review CBST policies and procedures with your swimmers often. (Please note that the inclusion of this reminder periodically in our team communications is not an indication that an issue has arisen - we simply provide periodic reminders to prevent issues from occurring.)

*The use of cell phones and other mobile devices with recording capabilities, including voice recording, still cameras and video cameras is prohibited in locker rooms, changing areas, rest rooms or other changing areas. If your swimmer(s) uses his/her cell phone in the locker room for ANY reason (making phone calls, taking pictures, etc.) he/she risks being removed from the team. (Parents please periodically monitor you child’s social media to ensure compliance with this policy.)

*Parents are not allowed in the locker rooms for any reason. High school students may be using the locker rooms related to high school activities. It is important that adults (including parents) not be in the locker room for the safety of all swim program participants and other student athletes.

                 *Videotaping of practices is prohibited.

*Swimmers should enter the pool deck upon their arrival (no sooner than 10 minutes prior to the start of practice) and wait on the benches for a coach to start practice.  They will be sent directly to the locker rooms after practice.

*Parents/siblings should go straight to the balcony.

*Please make sure your swimmers are dry and have shoes on when in the hallways of the schools. Please remember that behavior should mimic typical school day behavior. No running, climbing on tables, etc. Playing with balls in the building is prohibited. Siblings of team members must stay with their parents at all times and should not enter the locker rooms. No children should be running or roaming the halls at any time. Swimmers and their families are to be in the pool area (balcony or pool hallways) and should only go to the cafeteria area to use the restrooms or vending machines. Swimmers and their families are not to be in the gymnasiums at any time.

*Please review detailed and additional policies available at this link: http://cbsd.schoolwires.net//site/Default.aspx?PageID=2474
