Congratulations to our swimmers on their accomplishments during the championship season. They did a fantastic job and CBST was very successful. Also, thanks so much to our CBST volunteers who helped at the meets. It is truly appreciated - these meets could not run smoothly without your help!
See pictures posted from the meets on our website (Resources => General Information => Pictures).
Tentative dates for our hosted meets during the 2019-2020 season are:
- October 26-27, 2019
- February 8-9, 2020
Swimmers can access all of their USAS times through their Deck Pass. The times listed there are the swimmer’s times and can be used to qualify for any meet (regardless of the course in which the times were achieved in most cases). In the case of each specific meet, to determine if a swimmer qualifies for a particular event, one would make reference to the meet information with regard to qualifying times by event and the time frame given during which the time must have been achieved. When swimmers age up into the next age category, their times are still valid but would be compared to that next older age group’s qualifying times to determine if a swimmer qualified for a particular event at any given meet.
For those swimmers signed-up to participate, long course practices begin on Monday, April 22nd. If you are not swimming in long course we’ll see you in the fall. Please keep an eye out for registration information.
Advancement notification emails will be sent within the next few days. For general information about CBST’s advancement philosophy, please refer to the Advancement document on the team website (see CBST Resources, General Team Information, Practice Groups section). For eighth grade swimmers, also see the High School Information document on the same page of the website, General Information section.
In order to help our swimmers and their parents navigate the transition from age group swimming to swimming in our senior group and also the transition to high school team swimming, we have prepared the High School Information document mentioned above. All families with a swimmer currently in 8th grade should read this document now. Keep in mind that swimmers progress to the senior practice group within CBST in the same manner in which advancement occurs within age group. Thus, swimmers do not automatically advance to the senior practice group upon becoming a 9th grader, but rather, will advance to the senior group when they are ready as determined by the coaches. Please see the posted document for more information. Additionally, swimmers who will be entering 9th grade next fall and do not have access to or will otherwise not be participating with a high school team should set-up a family meeting during the spring with Coach Stu so that he can offer guidance regarding options and expectations with regard to your child’s continued swimming.
April bills will be emailed tomorrow. Please be sure to get your payment in by April 25th. All accounts need to be current in order for swimmers to begin long course.
