Updates and reminders for this week:
Reminder: there is no evening practice at CB South today (1/7/2016) due to a building conflict.
MEETS and ENTRIES:
Middle Atlantic Junior Olympics
Junior Olympic meet information has been posted on the MA website. The direct link to the meet sheet can be found below. The Administrative Staff is in the process of reserving a block of hotel rooms as an option for families. That information will be communicated as soon as it is finalized.
As in the past, CBST will be assigned to work during this meet. If you plan on officiating during this meet or cannot work a particular session, please email Julie Kline at firstname.lastname@example.org.
CBST's SAKA entries were not accepted so we will not be going to that meet as a team. While there was not room in the meet for our full team's entries, the host may be able to accept deck entries for some sessions. Our coaches feel that with our two hosted meets so close in time to this meet, most swimmers should not need to swim an additional meet, however, if your swimmer does want to swim that weekend, please contact Coach Stu or Coach Paul about your options.
CBST Winter Festival
Attached to this email are the final meet entries for the CBST Winter Festival. Final entries have also been uploaded to your portal. Watch for a separate email about volunteer sign-ups to come out next week.
CBST Spring Fever
The entry time line for this meet will be communicated next week.
CBST Winter Festival and Spring Fever Officials Sign-Up
Below are the links for Officials to sign-up to volunteer for our upcoming meets. Please email email@example.com with any questions. Thank you in advance for all your help...our meets couldn't run smoothly without you!

COMMUNICATIONS / MEETINGS:
CBST Website Calendar
It has been brought to our attention that many families are not able to see the calendar displayed properly on their smartphones. When looking at the CBST Calendar, scroll to the bottom and there is a web/mobile option. Select the option that pertains to the device you are utilizing.
Please join us in welcoming Kelly Jones (registered dietician) as she provides our CBST swimmers and families with proper nutrition guidance to maximize health and performance in the pool.
The confirmed date for senior swimmers is 1/16/2016. The meeting will be managed during practice time. Senior swimmers please keep track of what you eat for two or three days and email it to Kelly Jones (prior to the nutrition talk on the 16th) at Kelly.firstname.lastname@example.org .
Wednesday 1/13/2016 for age group swimmers and parents. 5:30-7PM. (Note that 5:30-6:15PM will be for swimmers and parents and then the swimmers will be released to go to practice at which point the discussion will continue for parents until 7pm.) The meeting will be held in the forum at CB South. To get to the forum walk down the hall from the pool toward the cafeteria all the way past the cafeteria then turn right (so the cafeteria is still on your right) follow this hallway around and the forum will be on your left.
College Swimming Meeting with Coach Stu (for parents):
Join coach Stu on Monday, January 25th at 6:30 p.m. in the classrooms by the pool (D204/D205) for a parents’ meeting to discuss swimming in college.
January bills will be emailed tomorrow. Note that NCAP team travel will be included in February bills for those swimmers who traveled to that meet with the coaches.
Watch for a communication soon about a CBST apparel order.
POLICIES AND PROCEDURES:
Please review CBST policies and procedures with your swimmers often. (Please note that the inclusion of this reminder periodically in our team communications is not an indication that an issue has arisen - we simply provide periodic reminders to prevent issues from occurring.)
*The use of cell phones and other mobile devices with recording capabilities, including voice recording, still cameras and video cameras is prohibited in locker rooms, changing areas, rest rooms or other changing areas. If your swimmer(s) uses his/her cell phone in the locker room for ANY reason (making phone calls, taking pictures, etc.) he/she risks being removed from the team. (Parents please periodically monitor you child’s social media to ensure compliance with this policy.)
*Parents are not allowed in the locker rooms for any reason. High school students may be using the locker rooms related to high school activities. It is important that adults (including parents) not be in the locker room for the safety of all swim program participants and other student athletes.
*Videotaping of practices is prohibited.
*Swimmers should enter the pool deck upon their arrival (no sooner than 10 minutes prior to the start of practice) and wait on the benches for a coach to start practice. They will be sent directly to the locker rooms after practice.
*Parents/siblings should go straight to the balcony.
*Please make sure your swimmers are dry and have shoes on when in the hallways of the schools. Please remember that behavior should mimic typical school day behavior. No running, climbing on tables, etc. Playing with balls in the building is prohibited. Siblings of team members must stay with their parents at all times and should not enter the locker rooms. No children should be running or roaming the halls at any time. Swimmers and their families are to be in the pool area (balcony or pool hallways) and should only go to the cafeteria area to use the restrooms or vending machines. Swimmers and their families are not to be in the gymnasiums at any time.
*Please review detailed and additional policies available at this link: http://cbsd.schoolwires.net//site/Default.aspx?PageID=2474
Have a great week!
